Find Strength In Pain By BMango
Jasper is given one more chance to turn his life around, and he finds it with Edward who has one last chance at living. Jasper/Edward. AH

Rated: Fiction M - English - Angst/Hurt/Comfort - Jasper & Edward
This story starts out with Jasper just being released from jail.  Part of the terms of his release is to do some community service.  This is one of many times Jasper has been in trouble with the law.  He's hoping to change things this time, to make sure this is the last time he ends up there.  He decides that he needs to do something totally different to make sure he doesn't run into any of the people from his past.  He talks to his Parole Officer, Felix and decides that he'll volunteer at a Hospice Center.
Despite the life that Jasper has led, he' a very kind and compassioniate man.  When he first arrives to volunteer there, it's to disapproving looks and cold shoulders.  He spots a woman that reminds him of his Nana and sets out to talk to her. He soon finds a friend in Miss Celie, and enjoys talking to her about her family.   He notices the young man sitting next to her and assumes he's her grandson.  Sadly, he's so wrong....
"What you have to understand is that Edward isn't visiting me or anyone here." She turned her gaze to me, her dark brown eyes serious but sad. "He's a patient here, too."
"A patient? He's dying?" I asked incredulously. How could someone so young and so beautiful be that sick?
"This is not my story to tell, my dear." She sighed and looked back out the window.
Edward had leaned his head back on the tree, and his eyes were closed. The sun filtering through the leaves danced across him, making him almost sparkle in the light like some ethereal creature. I couldn't have stopped watching if I wanted; he captivated me as no one else had.
Without shifting my gaze, I addressed the woman beside me. "I think I need to know his story, to know him."
"Then I suggest you return here and give him another chance." She chuckled then, a low throaty sound. "But be patient with him, Jasper. Very, very patient."

Jasper can't stop thinking about Edward, and wondering why he's there.  He decides to tell Felix that he wants to volunteer more time there.  He also needs to find a job, not easy for an ex-con.  Jasper has had a really touh life, most of it from his bad choices.  Choices he now regrets and wants to change.  He never wants to go back to the life of crime he left, but he really struggles with staying away from it.  Somehow his past keeps catching up with him.  He tries to leave it all behind but keeps running into the gang that he was involved with when he was arrested.

Edward is so young to be living the life he has lived.  He's been sick almost his whole life, and now he's sick of fighting it.  Every person that he has known that had the same condition he has, has died.  Most of them at a much younger age than Edward.  Earlier on he tried fighting, but I think he just decided it was easier to give up.  He needs a reason to want to live again, and he finds that in Jasper.  Sadly he loses one friend as he gains another.  Edward has lost lots of people in his life, and when he loses Miss Celie something in him snaps....

"Don't you get it? I'm dying!" He waved at the gravestones surrounding us. "You'll be faced with this same scene if you stick around."

"Edward, we're all dying. Maybe not with some incurable disease, but each day brings us closer to our own deaths. I won't live in fear of what tomorrow may bring, I plan to just enjoy today."

"I can't put you through that. I won't. I just want to be left alone." He turned away from me then, but I wouldn't let him dismiss me so easily.

I put my hand on his shoulder again. "No."

His head whipped around, anger in his eyes and color on his cheeks. "Why the fuck do you care? I'm just some community service to you! You're just a..."

"A what? A thief? A criminal?" I could handle his pushing me away or anger at his situation, but I would not allow him to attack me. "You think you have me all figured out?" I stood and glared down at him for a few seconds before turning and walking away. I knew if I stood there, I would say something I would regret.

I was only a few yards away when I heard his voice behind me.

"Wait!"

This story really is heartbreaking at times.  Both boys have lost everyone that meant anything to them, but now they've found each other.  Edward struggles with many things, he doesn't want to hurt Jasper by leaving him, but he's not sure that won't be the outcome.  Jasper is willing to take whatever Edward can give him.  They truely love each other and it really is sweet to watch their relationship delvelop.  They both deserve so much better than what they have been given.  Hopefully together they can make good things happen.

BMango has done a great job on this story, even when you find out about Jasper's past you still want to see him succeed.  And Edward, once you know about his story you will be left with such a feeling of sadness for him. Edward's pov is told mainly from his journal entries, which are at once beautiful and heartachingly sad. He's such a sweet boy and really hasn't had a chance to live a normal life at all. I honestly read most of the story with a lump in my throat, just waiting for something to happen to Edward. It's a very realistic story, about hope and how easy it is to give up on it, then realizing it's worth it to keep believing things can get better.  The beautiful banner was made by otherside92, and LyricalKris is her beta.  Between the two of them they really do an amazing job.  Just remember the tissues.

Eternal Sunset by Mrs. Aggett

Eternal Sunset by Mrs. Aggett
What if Edward was the new student at Forks High School? Twilight with a slashy twist.

Rated: Fiction M - English - Romance/Drama - Edward & Jasper WIP

This story is definitely Twilight with a twist.  Edward and his sister Bella are new to Forks.  When they arrive, everyone is very curious about them, including a group of vampires that call Forks home.   The Cullen Family, which Jasper is a member.   Jasper has always wondered why he has always been alone, always hoping to find his mate.  Hoping that mates really do exist.  He's never had anyone affect him in a way that made him want to do anything and everything for that person.  Alice kept telling him that he would eventually find his mate, but never who it was, or when it would be.  He never expected he would find his mate when he did.

As soon as he sees Edward, he knows, his world is turned upside down.  And while his instinct is to take Edward and claim him, he's afraid of killing him.  He immediately goes to Carlisle for advice, as he has no idea what to do next....

"The sound of his voice calmed me a bit, and I took a deep breath before speaking. "Carlisle, I found my mate...he's in one of my classes at school. He had to sit next to me and I had to fight myself not to take him right there in class. Please, I don't know what to do. Are you at the hospital?"
"Calm down, son. I'm at home. Are you coming?"
"On my way," I replied, then shoved my phone back into my pocket, running home at full speed. When I walked into the house, Esme waited for me with a big smile on her face. I knew she wanted to tell me she was happy for me, but I needed Carlisle. Surely, he'd help me figure out what to do. I'd always thought mates were something Maria made up to get me to stay with her. After one look at Edward, though, I knew she'd spoken the truth, and I had no idea what I'd do with a mate. Yes, I was lonely, but he was human. What would I do with him? We couldn't hunt together or anything like that. Humans were so fragile. One wrong move and I'd break him."

While Jasper likes the smell of Edward's blood, that's not all that draws him in.  He really wants to claim him, he wants everyone to know that Edward is his.  He struggles with trying to keep control of his instincts and not hurt Edward accidentally.  Edward unknowingly tempts him so many times.  Simply by kissing Jasper, when things get a little heated it's all Jasper can do  to stay in control.  Luckily his family is there to help.

Edward doesn't seem to know what to think of Jasper.  Luckily the story is told in both POV's so you know exactly how he feels.  At the beginning he's just tired of all the High School being so interested in him and his twin Bella.  Something Bella doesn't mind at all.  He  can't understand why Jasper reacts the way he does when they first meet.  Something other students also notice.  I like how Jasper is written, he's so lonely.  He's been willing to wait all those years for the one person who he knows will truly be his, solely based on what Alice tells him.  He never expected to meet his mate in High School, or for him to be human.

He's so conflicted, he fights to stop himself from simply touching Edward.  The pull to him is so strong, it's hard for him to ignore.  I really like how Jasper's family is really there for him.  They know how hard this is for him and really want to help him...except Rosalie....no surprise there.   Jasper is so innocent in trying to get to know Edward better, he's very loving and just sweet.  The Cullens all decide to just tell Edward.   I love how Carlisle handles this, although I'm pretty sure it had to be quite shocking for Edward.

"So, you won't eat me?" Edward asked with a nervous laugh, and Emmett cracked up.

"Jasper might," he guffawed, and my mate looked absolutely terrified. I could have killed Emmett right then.

"What are you talking about?" he demanded. "You just said I was safe."

"You are," Carlisle insisted, giving Emmett a dirty look. "You see, Edward, we don't follow all the lore you hear about vampires. We don't burn in the sun, we don't sleep in coffins, or any of that. Along with the cold skin and strength and speed, there is one more thing we do."

"What is it?" Edward asked in a small voice.

"Every vampire has one true destined mate. It is the one sole person in the world who completes us," he continued, and I felt nervous and excited. This was it.

When Carlisle finished explaining, Edward asked, "And?"

Looking my mate directly in the eyes, I said softly, "You are mine, Edward."

I wonder how Edward felt hearing that, it had to be quite a shock.  Imagine being a teenager and finding out that your destined to have the love of a vampire forever.  You can just imagine some of the situations that will be hard for these two.  Jasper is extremely protective of Edward, and sometimes finds it hard to let Edward interact with other people.  Most of Jasper's reactions are purely out of instinct.  But through it all he truly loves Edward, and can't imagine his life without him now that he's found him.  In his heart of hearts he hopes Edward is able to accept him for what he is and love him as deeply.   I think Edward and Jasper are going to have some definite challenges, but hopefully they end up happy together.

If you have read any of Mrs Aggett's other stories then you know the quality of her writing.  She's very good at expressing deep emotions, and throwing in some humour to break it up a little.   I really like this story, it's Twilight but it's not.  It's actually better.  Give it a try you won't be disappointed.  Mrs Aggett's pre-reader is Delphius Fanfic and her beta is Layne Faire.  I think they make a great team.

Want You to Want Me By Twilightobsessed09

Want You to Want Me by Twilightobsessed09
Written for Pimp my Bunnies contest. Jasper Whitlock spent his high school years being tormented by Edward Cullen. Now years later when their paths cross again, could the boy he once hated become the man he loves? AH, slash...R&R
Twilight - Rated: M - English - Drama/Romance  Edward/Jasper WIP

Jasper Whitlock is a High School senior, he lives with his mom and sister and they're a very happy family with a good home life. He loves painting, and hopes to be a doctor someday.  School is another matter entirely.  His mantra every day is "Breathe, Jasper, just breathe. It won't be long now, it's almost over."  He watches time after time as Edward Cullen and his group of rich bullies, The Elite as they like to be called, humiliate, hit, and harass anyone they think is beneath them.

Edward Cullen rules the school, at least in his eyes.  He has his sites set on Jasper, he can't stand it that nothing seems to get to him.  He takes everything they throw at him and just brushes himself off and goes on.  What really bothers Edward though is that he  has  a secret.  Only one other person knows and he's not talking, Edward is gay. He's so envious of Jasper that he's openly gay and is happy.  He knows he can't come out while living in the small town of Forks, not with how his parents are.   How their reputation is affected is all that matters to them.  Edward doesn't think his parents will be supportive, his happiness means so little to them.  So he decides to wait, and hide his true self.  Part of that is that he secretly is attracted to Jasper Whitlock and he hates himself for having those feelings, and that makes him hate Jasper even more.

Edward is very cruel, there seems to be no end to the things he will do to hurt Jasper.  But they take it a step too far when they destroy a painting Jasper painted to enter in a contest for a scholarship....

"When I get to the art room, there's a crowd standing inside, which is strange since most people have never had an interest in what we do in class before.

I push my way through the crowd and feel every single eye on me before I come face-to-face with Ms. Connor.

"Oh, Jasper, I am so very sorry. I got here this morning and found it like this. I don't know how it happened, but I intend to find out." I glance at her, noticing the sadness in her eyes.

But it pales in comparison to the horror before me.

Someone has destroyed my painting. My favorite portrait has been ripped apart and spray painted with the words "whores" and "trailer trash" written across Mom's and Rosalie's faces.

Why would anyone do such a thing?

I hear the whispers behind me, but they mean nothing. I have to get out of here."

Jump ahead 12 years later and Edward is Chief Resident  in the ER at the  University of Washington Medical Center and is happy.  He has good friends that work there with him, but no one special in his life right now.  He's had a few relationships in the past, but Seth was the most serious.  Seth taught him alot about love, and how his actions were not okayb.  He's tried to put his past behind him and live his life differently since he and Seth broke up a few years back.  Today there's a new doctor starting in the ER.  Edward is shocked to learn the new doctor is Jasper Whitlock.

When he first sees him, he can't believe his eyes.  Then he remembers all the horrific things he's done to Jasper in the past and hope's he's forgotten.   He hasn't.  He hates Edward, and has no intention of getting to know him any better.  He only talks to Edward in work situations, and then it's brief and to the point.  Finally Edward can't take it anymore and decides to confront Jasper  and hopefully resolve the problem he seems to have with Edward.....

"You're sorry?" he laughs. "For what? What are you sorry for?"

"I…"

"For fucking with my life for four fucking years?" he says angrily. "For making my high school experience the most miserable time of my life? The name calling, the pranks, destroying my opportunity for a scholarship? What exactly?" his voice is now raised and attracting attention.

"Can we just talk?" I try to shuffle him into an empty room, but he resists.

"Pick one Edward. Tell me what you're most sorry for." His eyes burn into mine. "Go on, I'm waiting."

What can I say? I did all those things to him. I had set out to ruin him, and apparently I did."

All of this happens in the first chapter.  This is a great story, Jasper and Edward are so alike in so many ways.  They both have been hurt in the past, but in totally different ways.  Jasper is very reluctant to let anyone into his heart.  Least of all Edward.  He has no reason to trust him, and even though the Edward he sees now is nothing like the Edward from high school, he really has no reason to trust him.  Edward is so different than what Jasper thinks he is, he doesn't "have it all" and really never did.  His life outside of his family is very different than what it's perceived to be by everyone outside his family.

Edward falls hard, he never got over his obsession with Jasper.  The first opportunity he has for more he takes it.  Jasper is not so easily won over.  He really wants to get to know Edward but he can't forget how cruel he was to him in high school.  He's very confused and so afraid of being hurt again.  His last boyfriend betrayed him so deeply and he's not ready to trust someone again.  But Edward won't give up.  He knows what he wants and he's not gonna take no for an answer.  He's willing to do all he needs to do to prove to Jasper that he is worth loving, and that he's ready to love Jasper more than anyone has or will ever again.

I love this story, when you read how Edward treats Jasper you really want Jasper to run away as fast as he can.  But when you hear how Edward really feels, and the reasons he's  the way he is, it's heartbreaking.  He truly is remorseful and totally in love with Jasper.  They both deserve to be loved, but are they willing to do what it takes to be there for each other.  It's gonna be a bumpy ride for these two, but there's alot of love there. They're both going to have to go through alot to get to the end together, hopefully they both think they're worth the effort.  I couldn't stop reading once I started.  Enjoy!
